Content Marketing / Video Scripts
Scripts that earn the next three seconds.
Video lives or dies in its opening moment, and that moment is written before it's filmed. We write hook-first scripts for short-form social, video ads, and explainers — with shot-by-shot direction simple enough to film on a phone, delivered in batches so you're never staring at a camera wondering what to say.
What's included in Video Scripts
Hooks written before anything else
Viewers decide in the first seconds whether to stay, and most business video loses them with a logo and a slow hello. Every script we write starts at the hook — the question, claim, or tension that interrupts a scroll — and we write several per script so the strongest opening wins, not the first one drafted.
What ships
- Multiple hook options per script, ranked with reasoning
- Openings built on real customer questions and objections
- No throat-clearing — scripts start where attention starts
Scripts matched to the platform and the job
A 30-second Reel, a 15-second ad, and a two-minute explainer are different instruments. We write each against its platform's pacing and its job in your funnel — awareness clips that travel, ad scripts that sell one offer hard, and explainers that warm up someone already considering you.
What ships
- Short-form scripts for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts
- Video ad scripts built around one offer and one action
- Explainer and service-walkthrough scripts for your website and follow-up
Topics pulled from real questions
The best-performing business video answers something a customer actually asked. We mine the questions from your market — search data, AI-assistant queries, what people say on calls — and turn them into scripts. Answering real questions also feeds your search presence: video content gets found, indexed, and increasingly cited too.
What ships
- Topic backlog built from search and customer-question research
- Question-led scripts that double as search-visible content
- Angles per topic, so one question becomes several videos
Direction you can actually film
A script that needs a crew never gets filmed. Ours come with shot-by-shot direction calibrated to what you have — usually a phone, a person, and twenty minutes. What to show while you say each line, where to cut, what to put on screen as text. If you can read and point a camera, you can shoot it.
What ships
- Shot-by-shot column alongside every line of script
- On-screen text and caption suggestions included
- Delivery notes: pace, tone, and the lines that need to land
Batches, variants, and learning loops
One video is a coin flip; a batch is a strategy. Scripts arrive in monthly batches so filming happens in one sitting instead of twelve. For ads, we script variants — different hooks on the same body — so testing tells you what your market responds to. What performs shapes the next batch.
What ships
- Monthly script batches sized to your filming capacity
- Hook and angle variants for everything running as paid
- Performance review feeding each next batch — keep, kill, or iterate
How it works
Angle
We research what your market asks and what stops their scroll, then map topics and angles. You approve the batch plan — topics, formats, and where each video will run — before writing starts.
Script
The batch arrives in days: full scripts with hooks, shot direction, and on-screen text, ready to film in one session. You review, we adjust, you shoot — or we pair the scripts with our content and advertising teams to handle the rest.
Learn
Once videos run, retention and response data does the arguing. Hooks that hold attention get extended into new scripts; ones that lose people get cut. Each batch starts smarter than the last.
Why Spec Social for video scripts
Most business video fails before filming: no hook, no structure, no reason for a stranger to care. Writing fixes that cheaply — a script costs a fraction of a shoot, and it's the part that decides whether the shoot was worth it. We treat scripts as the strategy layer of video, not a formality before pressing record.
Our scripts also come from the same research engine as everything else we build: real customer questions, search demand, and the objections that stall sales. That means your videos pull double duty — they work in the feed and they answer the questions people are typing and asking AI assistants about businesses like yours.
Honest expectations: scripts ship in days, and a strong hook can perform immediately. But audiences are built over batches, not single uploads — the channels that win publish consistently and learn from every post. We build the system for that, not a one-off viral attempt.
Pricing
Video scripts are included in retainers from $2,500 a month — batch size and formats set on the discovery call.

Questions, answered.
Do you film and edit the videos too, or just write the scripts?
Scripts are the writing half, and they're built so you (or anyone with a phone) can film them without a crew. If you'd rather not touch a camera, we pair scripting with our social content and video advertising services so production, posting, and promotion happen under the same roof. We'll scope what fits on the discovery call.
Do I have to be on camera?
No. Plenty of high-performing formats need no face: voiceover over job-site or product footage, text-on-screen walkthroughs, before-and-after sequences, screen recordings. That said, an owner or team member on camera usually builds trust faster for local businesses — we'll script both and let results decide.
How many scripts do I get, and how often?
Batches are sized to what you can realistically film — usually enough for several posts a week, delivered monthly so shooting happens in one or two sittings. Volume is set on the discovery call and adjusts as we learn what your audience responds to.
Will the scripts sound like me, or like an ad?
Like you on a good day. Scripts are written from how you actually talk about your work — we pull language from your calls, reviews, and a short intake conversation. Delivery notes mark where to be loose versus precise, and you approve every batch before filming. Stiff scripts get rewritten; that's what the revision pass is for.
Can you guarantee a video will go viral or hit a view count?
No — and no one honest can, because platforms decide distribution. What we control is what reliably correlates with performance: hooks that hold the first seconds, topics with proven demand, platform-native pacing, and consistent publishing. Then we read the retention data and iterate, which beats hoping.
How much does video script writing cost?
It's included in Spec Social retainers, which start at $2,500 a month. The exact number depends on batch volume and whether we're also handling production and distribution — you'll have it by the end of the discovery call.
